Intel® Atom™ Processor E6xx Series Board-to-Board Interconnect Options

Board-to-board interconnects are required for connecting off-the shelf board solutions with customized carrier cards and I/O modules. TE Connectivity designs and manufactures industry-standard board-to-board connectors used in these applications.

PCI Express Connectors The TE Card Edge Connector for PCI Express applications is a 1 mm centerline card edge product designed to meet PCI SIG requirements for the PCI Express architecture. The PCI Express architecture is a high-performance, point-to-point full duplex I/O bus.

COM Express® Connectors COM Express® is a PICMG standard that defines a Computer-On-Module, or COM, packaged as a super component. The defined interfaces provide a smooth transition path from legacy parallel interfaces to LVDS interfaces.

PC/104 and PC/104-Plus Connectors The PC/104 and PC/104-Plus specifications have been adopted by the embedded computing industry, offering a standardized system architecture and a wide range of multi-vendor products.

There are two basic ways to use modules implementing PC/104 or PC/104-Plus in embedded system designs. One way is to stack modules on top of each other in 0.6” increments. This eliminates the need for backplanes or card edges. The other basic approach calls for a custom carrier card connected to multiple PC/104 or PC/104-Plus modules.
