Combining the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC ARM® dual-core Cortex™-A9 + 28 nm programmable logic with the latest generation Analog Devices high-precision data converters and digital isolation, this kit enables high performance motor control and dual Gigabit Ethernet industrial networking connectivity.  A pre-built Zynq reference design of Field Oriented Control features Analog Devices Ubuntu Linux framework to provide an ideal infrastructure for designers to quickly prototype their own custom control algorithms. Additionally, an optional Motor Control Design Package from MathWorks® delivers a complete turnkey solution for motor control algorithm development, including C and HDL code generation and target support for the Zynq-7000 AP SoC. A voucher for Xilinx Vivado® Design Edition software is also included to support customization of the reference designs and production deployment. A compact dynamometer may also be purchase to provide a dynamic motor load for evaluating the performance of Zynq motor control applications.

  • The Analog Devices Dynamometer (Dyno) may be purchase with a base kit to provide a dynamic motor load test fixture for evaluating the performance of Zynq motor control applications. 

    The ADI Dyno features:

    • One BLDC motor (the load) directly coupled to a 2nd BLDC motor driven by the Zynq Intelligent Drives Platform
    • Push-button, digital control of an dynamic load to test real-time Zynq motor control performance
    • Analog Discovery USB oscilloscope for load signal measurement and control directly from MATLAB

     

    NOTE:  this version of the kit comes with 2x Brushless DC 24V motors – 1 load and 1 drive motor


  • The Motor Control Design Package from MathWorks delivers a complete turnkey solution for motor control algorithm development, including C and HDL code generation and target support for the Zynq®-7000 AP SoC.  This design package may be ordered with the Base Kit + Dyno option.

     
    This enhanced kit combines the Avnet ZedBoard 7020 baseboard, Analog Devices AD-FMCMOTCON1-EBZ  Module, and the MathWorks Motor Control Design Package for the Avnet Zynq®-7000 AP SoC Intelligent Drives Kit. The MathWorks Design Package includes MATLAB®, Simulink®, HDL Coder™, Embedded Coder™ and several other MathWorks products that enable engineers to design, test, and implement motor control algorithms on Xilinx SoCs and FPGAs using Model-Based Design. This approach has proven to save time and reduce design errors over traditional workflows involving hand-coding C and HDL.
     
    The Software Package enables automatic C and HDL code generation for Xilinx SoCs and FPGAs directly from Simulink, accelerating the design process from system-level model to hardware implementation. It includes reference designs to help users quickly get started designing and implementing signal processing algorithms. The integration of MathWorks software with Xilinx Vivado® Design Suite and the Intelligent Drives Kit allows engineers to focus on their algorithms and system design by providing a tightly-coupled set of hardware and software tools.

    Annual Term License or Perpetual License (Electronic Software Download)

    • Annual Term License: Customers receive full support for the length of the license term including access to any upgrades released during the term. License must be renewed every year or the software stops working.
    • Perpetual License: Customers receive one year of free maintenance entitling them to technical support and any product upgrades released during that time. After one year, an annual maintenance fee is required for continued product upgrades and access to technical support.
