The Xilinx Virtex-5 LXT/SXT Development Kit provides a complete development platform for designing and verifying applications based on the Xilinx Virtex-5 LXT and SXT FPGA family. Available with the Virtex-5 LXT or SXT, the kit enables designers to prototype high-performance, multi-gigabit serial transceiver based designs with ease, while providing expandability and customization through the EXP expansion slot.

The Virtex-5 LXT/SXT system board is available with the LX50T, LX110T, LX155T, SX50T or SX95T device (XC5Vxxx-xFF1136). Serial gigabit transceiver interfaces (GTPs) provide connection to the on-chip PCI Express x8 hard macro, two SFP connectors, and a SATA Host interface. The LX110T and SX95T versions of the board also support a CX4 connector with up to 10 Gbps data throughput. The system board includes DDR2 SDRAM, Flash memory, two 10/100/1000 Ethernet PHYs, and a serial port. The LX110T and SX95T versions add support for a 32 M x 64 DDR2 SODIMM socket. Other board features include a USB port, two programmable LVDS clocks, user switches, and LEDs. The board also provides a full EXP expansion slot, providing a total of 168 high-speed, single-ended and differential user I/O. EXP modules can be easily added to the board for additional application specific functions.
