The Mini-Module Plus power supply designed by Texas Instruments features the ease of use provided by SIMPLE SWITCHER® power modules as well as excellent performance and scalability to meet the needs of the Xilinx’s 7 series FPGAs and Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoCs.
 
The LMZ SIMPLE SWITCHER® power modules provide a complete integrated switching power solution in a single package, offer excellent thermal performance and come pretested and certified to meet strict CISPR 22 Class B requirements for radiated and conducted EMI. Two LMZ22008 devices provide discrete regulated outputs, while two LMZ22010 modules are used in a current sharing mode turning the two 10A converters into a single 20A power house. The LMZ22010 devices are used in parallel to provide the 3.3V regulated output to the board, and also provide the input voltage to other supplies on the power module. By creating a lower voltage intermediate bus, TI is able to boost overall board efficiency.
 
An LM20333 synchronous buck regulator is used to provide the 2.0V output, while four LM21212-1 synchronous buck regulators are used to provide the remaining voltages including supporting the 3% voltage tolerance requirements of the FPGA Core and high-speed transceiver rails. The LM20333 and LM21212-1 both provide high efficiencies and lower overall system losses.
 

All devices in the TI Mini-Module Plus design feature external synchronization, allowing the switching frequencies to be synchronized and filtered to further reduce system noise. All devices are also fully supported by the WEBENCH® design tool allowing for ease of use and optimization for different system requirements.

      • 1.0 V @ 6 A output, 3% tolerance (LM21212-1)
      • Second 1.0 V @ 6 A output, 3% tolerance (LM21212-1)
    • Remote sense for greater regulation accuracy at the load on all outputs
