Sensor AFE tools simplify design, enabling the engineer to select a sensor, design and configure the solution, and download configuration to the Sensor AFE IC. The SPIO-4 Digital Controller Board provides a USB-controllable interface between a Sensor AFE evaluation board and a PC running Sensor AFE Software. A Sensor AFE evaluation platform typically consists of 1 or 2 product evaluation boards (depending on whether the particular Sensor AFE IC integrates an ADC or not), a SPIO-4 Digital Controller Board, and Sensor AFE Software.
SPIO-4 Digital Controller Board
The SPIO-4 Digital Controller board is used to read registers, write registers, and capture data from various National Semiconductor Sensor AFE products whose evaluation boards are equipped with a GPSI-16 or GPSI-32 header. The SPIO-4 board contains a USB port that communicates to a PC running Sensor AFE software.
LMP90100 Evaluation Board
The LMP90100EB is the evaluation board for the LMP90100, a 24-bit fully programmable low power ∑Δ ADC with true continuous background calibration. The SensorAFE software is used to configure, program, and analyze the LMP90100. In order to interface this board to a PC, a SPIO-4 digital controller board is required. The SPIO-4 board captures the SPI signals and display the timing and histogram plots in the SensorAFE software.
Evaluation Board for the LMP91000 The LMP91000 evalboard (LMP91000SDEVAL) can be used as stand-alone or as part of SensorAFE eval platform (refer to
SensorAFE platform for software and required hardware). It allows configuring the LMP91000 through the I2C interface and testing the device with real gas sensors (3-lead amperometric cells and 2-lead galvanic cells).
